Recently The New York Times, because of pressure from the Left, changed the wording of an article to now say that some prisoners released from Guantanmo Bay are engaged in (terrorism or militant activity) rather than returned to (terrorism or militant activity)--because the first version would have implied prisoners in Gitmo had actually committed acts of terrorism in the first place! (Nobody on the anti-war Left believes these acts were committed by anyone we've actually caught, at least not by anyone locked up in Gitmo.)
Yet The Times appears to have no problem with calling carefully considered legal opinions torture memos.
