Thought Crime

The Soviets lost tens of millions in the Second World War. And Andrew J. Bacevich argues that it was the Soviet Union, not the United States, who was the real hero of the Twentieth Century, and that we should never forget to doff our Yankee caps to them.

Now Putin intends to criminalize those who may think differently:
"The dominant political party led by Putin, now Russia's prime minister, is working on legislation that would make it a crime to belittle the Soviet contribution to victory in what Russians call the Great Patriotic War."
