With all the stories this summer about doping scandals in cycling, baseball, and wrestling, plus the Michael Vick ugliness, its good to hear about professional athletes helping the community.
It has been more than two weeks since Broward County Sheriff's Deputy Chris Reyka was shot and killed in a parking lot Pompano Beach parking lot.
Monday, his case gained some star power as big names upped the ante in hopes of finding his killers.
The contributors to Reyka's fund include Miami Dolphins players and Miami Heat player Alonso Mourning and his wife. They, along with other organizations and individuals, reached deep into their pockets to raise an additional $161,000 to go toward the reward money.
